Accommodation in Wroclaw
Hotel Europeum **
ul. Kazimierza Wielkiego 27A, Wrocław
Tel: +48 71 371 45 00
Web:www.europeum.pl
A hotel for little less demanding customers. The prices are much lower than in most Wroclaw hotels, but at the same time the location compensates for only two stars– close to the market square (the only drawback being a very busy road running in front of it). If you are not used to luxury and want to save some money – Europeum Hotel is the place for you.
Hotel HP Park Plaza ****
ul. Drobnera 11/13, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 320 84 00
Web: www.polhotels.com/Wroclaw
One of the nicest hotels in Wroclaw. With its four stars and great location, it is also one of the most popular. There are 178 rooms located on 6 floors, a fitness club and a casino. The hotel is located in the close vicinity of Market Square and Ostrow Tumski, and it has got some spectacular view over Slodowa Island. All this information can be found on the hotel website, however I would also like to add something more personal to this review. The service in this hotel is really fantastic - staff is very friendly and professional.
Hotel Orbis Wroclaw ****
ul. Powstancow Slaskich 7, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 361 46 51
Web: www.orbis.pl/en/wroclaw/hotels/orbis_wroclaw
As far as I remember this used to be the only four star hotel in Wroclaw. Until one day someone realised that there is enough room for competition and built their own hotels. During many years of solitary domination, Orbis Wroclaw has become the most recognisable hotel in the city. Nowadays, especially when compared to newer hotels such as Park Plaza or Holiday Inn, it looks slightly old. However, its location is still one of the best, as it is located south of the Market Square and close to main railway station. It’s got a big conference room, a fitness club and an indoor swimming pool.
Qubus Hotel Wrocław ****
ul. Sw. Marii Magdaleny 2, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 797 98 00
Web: www.qubushotel.com
Another of Wroclaw’s four star hotels. It is located about 100m east from the market square, making it easy to reach all the main tourists attractions on foot. It has been built a couple of years ago and it is very modern. It has got a fitness club, swimming pool and sauna – pretty much standard thing for this type of hotels.
Radisson SAS Hotel *****
ul. Purkyniego 10, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 375 00 00
Web: www.wroclaw.radissonsas.com
Very fancy 5 star hotel located east of the Market Square in a beautiful and quite park area. It is one of the newest hotels in Wroclaw. It has got 162 rooms, fitness club and conference hall for some serious business meetings. Very good choice for richer tourists visiting Wroclaw. You pay a lot but you get a lot in return.
Holiday Inn ****
ul. Pilsudskiego 49/57, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 787 00 00
Web: www.wroclaw.azurehotel.pl
It is just the same as most other Holiday Inn hotels. If you have been to one of them, than you will know what to expect. A nice four star hotel, located very conveniently close to the Market Square and the main train station. What their website does not say is that, the “convenience” of the location means it is located at one of the busiest Wroclaw crossroads. Otherwise leaves a very positive impression.
Hotel Mercure Panorama ***
pl. Dominikanski 1, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 323 27 00
Web: www.orbis.pl/en/mercure/wroclaw/mercure_panorama_wroclaw
Dominikanski Square is one of the most popular meeting points in Wroclaw. Right in the middle of it there is a big junction of two main streets, and there is also the Mercure Panorama hotel (obviously it is NOT build in the middle of the junction, but next to the shopping mall – Galeria Dominikanska). It is located pretty close to Market Square and Ostrow Tumski which makes it a very good choice for tourists. If you ever end up there, take a look at the church nearby and ponder for a while about the Middle Ages – in the place where the hotel is built, they used to burn witches and heretics – spooky!
Best Western Hotel Prima Wroclaw ****
ul. Kielbasnicza 16-19, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 782 55 55
Web: www.bestwestern-prima.pl
First hotel from Best Western in Wroclaw, but not one that you would expect from a great hotel chain – i.e. it is not big and futuristic. It is an old fashioned hotel converted from a historic tenement, preserving its fantastic “feel”. 78 rooms, fitness club and two conference rooms. Small but friendly.
Dwor Polski
ul. Kielbasnicza 2, Wroclaw, Poland
Tel: +48 71 372 34 15
Web: www.dworpolski.wroclaw.pl
One of the most popular and exclusive hotels in Wroclaw. Located in the Market Square, it can be easily mistaken for any other tenement surrounding the Town Hall. It would be a real shame to miss it – not only it has got that “something”, but also a fantastic restaurant on the ground floor that serves traditional Polish food. It has scored almost maximum points for food, accommodation and service quality in the review by Polish edition of Newsweek.
Hotel Polonia ***
ul. Pilsudskiego 66 , Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 10 21 (ex. 29)
Web: www.polhotels.com/Wroclaw/Polonia
Being one of the oldest Wroclaw’s hotels, Polonia has become very well known mostly among German tourists. Even though the building was built in the first half of twentieth century, it is very well preserved. The rooms are fairly cheap and old fashioned, location is literally five minutes from the main train station and the only drawback is the stupid music (mostly Polish oldies) played at the main entrance all the time.
