Wroclaw Restaurants
Akropolis
pl. Solny 18/19, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 14 13
Web: www.akropolis.wroc.pl
A Greek restaurant located in the heart of the city, in the Solny Square. It has the opinion of a posh place, which does not necessarily mean “the best”. I have to admit that its interior stylised for an ancient Greece impressed me, as well as some of the outdoor seating facing the lovely square with its flower stalls. As for the food the opinions are divided. I liked their wine and some seafood salads, but also met some customers not entirely happy with the service and cuisine. Better go there and verify it yourself.
Aladyn
ul. Odrzanska 23, Wroclaw

Do you like camels? No? Ok, how about desert? No? Well, I bet you won’t refuse the kebabs served in this restaurant. Huge kebabs. With chips. Seriously, the portions are really big and very, very good. Service, however, lacks a bit in efficiency – not enough waitresses make you wait for slightly too long during busy hours.
Amalfi Ristorante
ul. Więzienna 21,Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 67 84
For all the Italian food lovers Amalfi is the place to go. From the variety of Italian restaurants in Wroclaw, this one is special as most of the products are imported directly from Italy. This makes its food really fantastic and you can be sure that Mozzarella will taste exactly the same as in Italy. They offer a great variety of pizzas and also sophisticated seafood dishes like clams in white wine and fresh molluscs.
Bazylia
ul. Kuznicza 42, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 375 20 65
Even though it is not a typical restaurant, but a student canteen I thought it is worthwhile describing. Located in the brand new building of Faculty of Law, it serves most of typical Polish dishes at very cheap prices. If you find it difficult to read Polish menu, ask any of the hundreds law students – they will be happy to help.
Kurna Chata
ul. Odrzanska 7, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 341 06 68
Web: www.kurnachata.pl
Kurna Chata means “Hen House” and generally is stylised like a rural cottage. Old ploughing tools and big wooden tables are arranged neatly to create a cosy atmosphere of the Polish countryside. The food also fits into the picture - you can eat such traditional Polish dishes as “pierogi”, “kopytka” or “pyzy”, as well as the range of fantastic roasted meats. Fried potato dumplings served with tasty gravy are a real mouthful. Strongly recommended.
La Luz – Art Bar and Mexican Restaurant
ul. Krainskiego 14, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 661 927 476
Web: www.laluz.pl
A hidden gem of Wroclaw, La Luz is a Mexican restaurant with style! It is run by an American artist, who spent his childhood in southern California, eating Mexican food all the time and expanding his tastes and culinary experiences. That is why he always makes sure that their food tastes genuine and imports ingredients straight from Mexico (including fantastic corn tortillas). If you add to this the fantastic range of wines from Latin America, very neat décor and occasional events such as wine competitions, art performances or live NFL games, you may be sure that this is one of the best Mexican restaurants not only in Wroclaw, but probably even in Poland. I have to say that its only disadvantage is the location – slightly hard to find at first, but really worth finding!
Mexico Bar
ul. Rzeznicza 34, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 346 02 92
If you like Mexican food, this is the right place for you. Absolutely fantastic dishes from tortillas to burritos at reasonable prices come at all varieties with a range of nice drinks. Nice atmosphere and general “ambience” combined with professional staff leaves the impression of one of the best restaurants in Wroclaw. The only disadvantage is the size of the place – it is small and therefore it’s hard to find a free place during lunchtime.
Marche
ul. Swidnicka 53, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 95 65
The main difference between Marche and other typical restaurants in Wroclaw is that it is self serviced. When you enter, you are given a piece of paper where you receive stamps (that’s right, stamps – fortunately not potato ones) for each dish you order. So you collect beautiful imprints of meats, fish and beverages that save you from the stress related to paying up in front. Very neat trick and it works! I have never worried about the prices until the moment I had to leave – then the reality usually came back. Thank God the prices are not too high. Now the food – you can try dishes from four different cuisines – Polish, Italian, Oriental and Arabic. All of them are very good. Fresh vegetables and meats, great variety of desserts and drinks make Marche one of my favourite restaurants in Wroclaw. Oh! I almost forgot – the interior is also fantastic.
Oregano
ul. Kuznicza 57/58, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 344 40 86
Web: www.oregano.com.pl
A very stylish restaurant located just off the market square. The name may suggest that pizza is the main dish served there, but this assumption would prove wrong very quickly. Even though they do serve a variety of nice pizzas, the best courses come from traditional Polish cuisine. So you’ve got everything there – from nicest soups, through “golabki”, up to “lazanki”. All the finest things from Poland, maybe just “flaki” went missing somewhere on their way. As for the place itself, it is very romantic – old piano in the middle together with candle-lit tables make a perfect atmosphere for a romantic evening.
Pizza Dominium
Rynek 60, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 18 30
Web: www.pizzadominium.pl
A cozy pizza place in the heart of the market square. Apart from big and tasty Italian pizzas, they also offer a variety of salads, pastas and appetizers. Not much more to say, apart from the fact that its location dictates slightly higher prices, not always justified.
Pod II Strusiem
ul. Ruska 61, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 43 23
Personally I think this is the best pizza place in Wroclaw. Located in the underground of Ruska street it has an Australian – New Zealand décor with Kiwis and boomerangs all over the place (I meant Kiwi paintings, not live animals!). It offers a wide variety of pizzas, sometimes combining flavours in very unusual ways – most of the time it works perfectly. The prices are also affordable, so Pod II Strusiem can be a very interesting alternative to the monopoly of Pizza Hut.
Pod Papugami
Sukiennice 9a, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 343 43 49
Web: www.podpapugami.com.pl
“Under the Parrots” is a stylish and trendy pub / restaurant. Very popular among young professionals due to the snobbish location and well earned renown. Every night they play live music from Jazz to Blues and Pop. On Saturdays it turns into a small disco, when DJ Romek Rega appears at the decks, serving best club music. The prices are expensive and it is really hard to find room during the weekend, but still throngs of people come there every week. Recommended.
Pastelowa Restaurant
ul. Ruska 58-59, Wroclaw
Tel: +48 71 344 47 43
Web:www.pastelowa.pl
Pancakes! Pancakes anyone? Pastelowa Restaurants is one of the very few places in Wroclaw that specialises in pancakes – from sweet, standard ones with fruit and cream to most sophisticated buckwheat pancakes with broccoli, olives and garlic. All of them taste really good and are worth recommending. Pastelowa is a great place for lunch if you want to try something different from usual Wroclaw menu.
